I haven’t written here in a while and I decided to write about things I did in the past month of July. (–Though I should be studying for my final that is tomorrow morning!)

Dewey’s 24th birthday ended the month of June, he turned 24 on the 24th, in which we ate at our favorite pizza place, Grimaldi’s (in Douglaston) and was taken out to a Met’s game by his best friend and best friend’s girl friend.

July 1st was pretty nice, the people I intern for at the Department of Environmental Protection wanted to treat me to something for my upcoming birthday so they took me out on a trip in the field to City Island. City Island is a small island off of the Bronx and we were out their for a project involving the bridge that connects the two land masses.

July 5th, my actually brithday (turned 23), Dewey had the day off — most everyone did because it was the Fourth of July observed. I had work in the morning but it was pretty fun. Afterwards Dewey picked me up (after he had bought my present that morning) and we went to Grimaldi’s again, but this time at my favorite location — Brooklyn. We also spent some time at the Brooklyn Promenade which is my favorite place in the city.

Part of my birthday present from Dewey was tickets to see Weezer down at the Williamsburg, Brooklyn Waterfront, which we did on July 16th. It was a really fun concert (all outdoors) and they played a great set list. They did a really cool song mix/mash-up where they played MGMT’s ‘Kids’ and went into Lady Gaga’s ‘Pokerface’. It was funny and Rivers Cuomo wore a blonde Lady Gaga wig!

Other things I did in July include going to the pool, going to friend’s and family’s housewarming parties, seeing Toy Story 3, seeing Strawberry Fields perform a Long Island summer concert, painting my dad’s house, hanging out with friends, and getting into yoga.

I’ve also been enduring an Urban Processes class this month which is almost over — my final is tomorrow! It’s time for me to go back to studying. So far summer has been pretty fun, no real vacations but doing things around the city is still a lot of fun. I’ll update about August and The July Edition soon!

I’ve been busy and I’ve been keeping busy this month. So I ended my official last week of classes, but I have class on this coming Monday, I need to drop off a paper on Tuesday, and then I have class on Thursday. I’ve been stressing about the Tuesday paper though because I didn’t care for the subject of the class much so I don’t really care on the paper topic, but it needs to be a minimum of 10 written pages and I only have 3. I have one other big paper due the following Monday that I have not truely started yet and I missed some homeworks in the class that relates to that paper.

Enough about school work though, yesterday we had a Communion party to go to, and BBQ at my boyfriend Dewey’s house for our friend Paul’s birthday which was a lot of fun. We weren’t too prepared for the BBQ but we had a lot of fun and a lot of yummy food. Today I have an overnight shift at New York & Company, from 6:00pm-2:00am. I’ve done it many times before so I know what to expect, I feel like I have a tired start to the day though. Wednesday is my friend Chrissy’s 20th birthday, yay Chrissy! I think we’re going to go to Cheeburger, Cheeburger for her. Thursday, after class, my classmates wanted to also go to Applebees because I think we all mutually distained that class and wanted to celebrate it’s over-ness!

Next Sunday, May 23rd, is a Craftacular that I’m really excited about and hope to tell you all about it! Monday my last school paper is due for this semester, Thursday is my graduation for Undergrad! (Yes I’m in Graduate school now but they only do a graduation once a year so I got lumped into having my Undergrad commencement after my first Grad semester.) Saturday is my friend’s graduation party, to be dressed in formal/prom attire And Sunday (30th) is my cousin’s wedding!

Lots of things going on the next couple weeks! And then I think I jumped right back into school by June 1st. Sounds so sad but it’s only one class, early mornings, four times a week, and we get to travel around the City (It’s a class called Urban Aesthetics) – and I’ve had the professor teaching it before and he’s great, and I have some friends in that class which will make it even more fun!

Alright, it’s time to start getting ready for the rest of the day and I need to work more on my paper for this Tuesday. I hope all is well for everyone out there, and I wanted to say thanks for helping to not let this site die yet.

School is starting to move forward and there’s a lot of assignments and tests are coming up, I need to focus on studying. I can’t seem to get anything done lately – I can’t seem to concentrate. I don’t know what my next move should be or where I should go from here. I need to get this done.

I am not the person I was last year, nor am I the same person I was yesterday.

I’ve slacked off on my reading, and those of you who know me know that I love to read. I’m still in the middle of Big Sur and Naked Lunch. I went to the bookstore yesterday and wanted to literally buy 5 more books.

Spring break finally comes at the end of this month. I’m doing so bad and I need a break from it. I think I’m going to take a summer class (I’ve never done so) called Urban Asthetics. I’m excited for it and also for the fact that it’s not a night class which I’m so sick of.

I hope to write again soon. I don’t write much anymore, I know. I also used to write poems but I haven’t done that in a while either. It’s time to get up and go…

Sorry for being so M.I.A.
Today is a stressful day, my payment for my classes was due January 7th and now it is past due and so if I do not pay today they will drop all of my classes. And I had no idea that it was past due. So I called my mom today and she is super stressed out now and my dad is stressed and Dewey was just trying to comfort me which was very sweet of him.

I usually am not stressful, it’s a once in a while thing, and hopefully everything will work out for me, I came up with backup plans in my head if it comes to the worst.

Teavana is opening up in the mall near my dad’s which makes me pretty happy because I love their teas.

Yesterday I hung out in the city all day, I went to the MoMA and saw the Tim Burton exhibit and the Monet Waterlillies exhibit. Tim Burton was AMAZING. It was such a cool exhibit, there were so many drawings and ideas that he jotted down and even a life sized Edward Scissorhands. I cannot wait to see Alice in Wonderland.

Today I would like to go to the city again after this bill payment ordeal I have to encounter. I was planning on going to my favorite bookstore in SoHo and then walk the streets. Thursday I was thinking of going to the MET which is my favorite museum. (Here we call it MET for short but it’s the Metropolitan Museum of Art.)

Also, past due but I hope everyone had happy holidays. Valentine’s Day is coming up next month, I like that holiday. I love being festive in general. My favorite holiday in the Fourth of July. When I was little I was told that the fireworks were in honor of myself (though I knew it wasn’t true but still liked to hear it because I love fireworks) because my birthday is the day after.

But anyways, I GOT INTO GRADUATE SCHOOL!

I have one more week left and then I’m DONE with this semester meaning more time for you all! Then I don’t go back till the end of January, how sweet is that?

So for the next week I’ll be studying and returning comments, and then I’ll be back here with more force. I already have ideas for new pages and such so be on the lookout for that

October went out pretty nicely, on Halloween I went out with Dewey and took my sib’s trick-or-treating. We then went to a nice party afterwards. I went dressed as a flapper, and Dewey did not really have a real costume.

Yesterday, besides it being Election Day here in the states, was also the mark of the 4 years that Dewey and I have been dating. We went out for Japanese food, exchanged presents, and cuddled up with some delicious tea that we had bought a Teavana. On Monday we went to the mall to go to Teavana and we bought a nice cast iron tea pot, the Hobnail Cast Iron Teapot, and we bought Sencha Green Tea, and Snow Peak Downy Tips White Tea. We tried the Green Tea last night and it was so good!

Other than that, school has been bombarding me with work, and work has been giving me more hours. I’ve been more tired recently and I can’t wait till the end of this semester! Although if I get accepted to Graduate School right away it will be back into more, and harder school work But on the flip side, I was accepted and am now a proud member of the National Sociology Honors Society (Alpha Kappa Delta)! I have a membership card in my wallet and a certificate to show for it! Lol.

Sooo, I was bored and had a little free time on my hands so I made this video for you guys lol…

Also, I decided to go as a Flapper, sorry anyone who wanted to see Geisha pictures in my next post. I tried out my makeup for the Geisha yesterday but my white powder came out too transluescent and I just had a very weird white face. Maybe next year though but this year I’m a Flapper.

Dewey was originally going to go as an Old Man, then he changed his mind to being Brawny Man, and now he’s disappointed that Brawny Man doesn’t actually have facial hair. So I have no idea what he’s going to be yet!

Ohh and Dewey and my anniversary is coming up, November 3rd! It’s going to be 4 years! So Dewey gave me a present early because he thought I’d like to use it for Halloween, he gave me the Coastal Scents 88 color palette on my wish list! It’s a makeup palette and I’ve already had fun doing my look I’m not good with makeup, but I love getting creative!

So Dewey’s family has Sunday night dinners at around 6:00pm, so Dewey packed me a little dinner in a tupperware which was super cute and sweet of him So I bring it into work and I share a bit, but it comes to the point that I had had only one bite and everyone else ate the rest of it! lol. So we call Dewey and put in a request for a little bit more food and ask him to go on a drink run for us which he very sweetly does We finish all of the food and then we order out chinese! lol, we're all a bunch of piggies!

How our store is set up is that all new merchandise is placed in the front of the store and older stuff gets pushed back till it's essentially in the sale section at the way back. What we had to do was move all the stuff that was in the front towards the back and put out a whole lot of new stuff in the front. It is actually a pretty time consuming process and a lot of the clothes we took out of the front had to be back stocked because we're adding a whole bunch of new clothes.

The new clothes are pretty cute though, I find myself buying clothes lately because I'm surrounded by them and because of the discounts. But there is a lot of cute new stuff, if you want to know some of the trends I’m seeing I can list some, but don’t hold me to this, this is just what I’ve seen in my store:

• Stirrup leggings and pants (something we haven’t seen since the 80’s and 90’s)
• Pastels, bright colors, neons (a lot of the sweaters we put out are in an array of these colors)
• Black, white, silver, and gold combinations (for a dressed up work look or for a evening party look)
• Hardware (chunky metallic necklaces, studs, all that metally stuff)
• Plaids (still in, but not the Brawny Man [paper towel guy] looking plaids, a more sophisticated looking kind)
• Ruffles (small ruffles as neck detailing on a shirt)

Last order of business, Dewey and I both have off for Halloween, time for the family and taking the siblings out trick-or-treating. Dewey actually wants to be the Brawny Man, if you have no idea who I am talking about, here’s a picture! And I think I’m just going to go as a Geisha, easy costume for me, I wish I would have thought of something else sooner lol. Enjoy the rest of the week guys
